Question(s) of the Day

I know that girls like guys to be in control and not wusses but...

Do women prefer to be asked out for an actual date directly or in a descrete round about type way?

What if it is by a guy you know that you had never thought about like that before?

Fantabulous

So I haven't blogged since Friday. I haven't been in the blogging mood but I also have been busy. Worked the door all weekend. Witnessed some excitement at Moho's. Sunday I played poker in Pawnee again. I finally won. Yep! I won, beating out 6 other guys. I was very very happy about this. Then I was all planning on putting the money right into my checking since checking has been tight lately. Well, I signed up for a class out at good old LLCC and I had to buy the book for the class. It ended up costing me 108 bucks for just 1 book. Yeah, that killed the money I had won and the money earned working the door this past weekend. Not fun at all. I'm like, grrrrr, there goes that money. Fun while it lasted.

Last night I went and saw the movie RED EYE with Nattie, RD, and Staci. I really enjoyed it and it wasn't real scary, it was more suspenseful. There is a difference. I was on the edge of my seat often towards the end of the movie. Also, I'm getting sick and tired of people saying they won't even listen to me about how I liked a movie because I like movies. Have you ever thought I just try not to see movies that I think will be crap. Maybe I have a good judgement before I waste my money on a movie in the first place. I don't see every single movie. I like the movies I see because they look like movies that I would enjoy. I don't go see a movie that I think before hand, hey that looks like that will suck. I SAVE MYSELF THE TIME. So don't talk down to me about liking every movie I see. I don't either. Pay attention to the adjectives that I use to describe it and what I liked about it. I'm tired of it. That is all.

I do not listen to the Lion King Soundtrack on repeat. I own it yes, but I rarely listen to it and if I do it is not on repeat. Nice trying to be funny.

I am down to 297 pounds and starting to tone now. Cause I think that I am still losing at a decent rate but the muscle mass may be building. Things are going well. Thank you for your love and support.

Workin for the weekend

Today I get to go set up at my school in preparation for all the little kiddies that will be showing up for their first day of school this coming Monday. Should be fun. I only work 5 hours today and I'm done by 1pm.

Well, the 5 hours only counts my day job. I also work at Brown's tonight AND tomorrow night. Come see me working the door. Visit for a while. Have a few drinks. It will be glorious!

Dude, that's your name dude.

The Big Lebowski (Collector's Edition)

Universal Home Entertainment will finally release the long-awaited Collector's Edition of The Big Lebowski on October 18th. This disc will sport a newly remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer along with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Extras will include an introduction by Mortimer Young, a "The Making Of The Big Lebowski" documentary, & a Jeff Bridges photgraph gallery. A "The Big Lebowski: Achiever's Edition Gift Set" will also be available for a limited time - featuring the Collector's Edition DVD, a bowling shammy towel, quotable lines picture coasters & photo cards from Jeff Bridges' personal collection.

Well well

Today was an early one considering that I couldn't fall asleep until after 3am. Maybe I shouldn't have had that coffee at 9pm last night. I almost overslept for going to a meeting this morning. I hit my snooze more often than I had originally planned. I made it on time though. I just had to sacrifice a shower to make it.

I weighed in again today. My crazy scale says 302 which means that I am at about 298 or 297 pounds since it weighs heavy. The reason I know it weighs heavy is that I would go to the doctor, get weighed, then come straight home and weigh here, and there would be a difference when I had not changed anything.

Thank you everyone for all of your inspirational comments. I appreciate all of it. I know that I haven't been this proud of myself in a long time. Life is going well for me right now.

Went to a Young Adult Group last night at a church with my buddy RD. That was fun. I think that I may continue going with him each week. That is unless I have bigger fish to fry.

1st goal close

So today I weighed myself on my inconsistent scale in my bathroom. I have a theory that it weighs 4 to 5 pounds heavy when standing normally with both feet flat on it after it zeros. Sometimes it can be accurate if I stand on 1 foot but yeah, that sucks standing on 1 foot while waiting for a number to pop up. But anyway, I hopped on the scale today and without any theatrics, I weighed in at 304 pounds. So what does that mean? Well, I am possibly at 300 pounds in real life. I don't have access to a real doctor's scale at the moment. I guess I could do the one at FitClub. But I prefer to get an "actual weight" and not have to guestimate how much my clothing weighs. So my final answer is that I am borderline for having lost 50 pounds.

Hurt

I nearly cried tonight because you said that I upset you. I never thought that this could happen. I never thought that I could do that to you. It hurts me that I hurt you. I don't know what to think about this. I cannot rationalize it enough. It all boils down to me failing on my word, something that I take much pride in. I am lost.

Today recap

Today hasn't been too eventful. I worked and I slept. Right now I am doing a lot of laundry. Then I am cleaning my room to look really nice. Reasons for this you may ask? Well, this coming Saturday is going to be a big day. My friend Jessica and her bf Gavin are coming to Springfield to visit and staying at our house. Well, at the same time my sister Jen and her husband are coming home for a HS Reunion and staying with us. So I have to be able to provide room with so many people coming to our house at once. We can hold a lot of people but it helps when the place is spiffy and nice. So clean clean clean is what I am doing tonight. Because tomorrow night I am supposed to be going out on the town with coworkers. Then I may be working the door Friday night at the bar. I requested to get that shift from the other doorguy because I am still in need of money. I haven't gotten that pay raise yet.... I also work the door on Saturday night too.

Important!

Friday is Melissa's 24th birthday.

Saturday is Sterno's birthday (age withheld because he is old)(jk).

On Saturday I believe that Jessica and bf Gavin want to see old friends, catch up and hang out. The plan is for us to go to the State Fair during the day and then hang out at DH Browns while I work the door on Saturday night. Then possibly more State Fair on Sunday before she heads back home up north. I will try to get ahold of people to get this organized. But call me if you want to hang.

Tuesday Recap

So yesterday the highlight of my day was going back to the dietician after 6 weeks. It started off with hopping onto the tap tap scale. Well, first she set the scale to the weight that I was at when I saw her 6 weeks ago which was 345 lbs. So I get on, and the thingy does not jump up. She starts tapping it down, about a pound at a time. Well, I realize that this is going to be a while so then I point and say, "I think it may be somewhere down there" pointing toward the 310 lbs. area. She was like, hmmm, okay and slid it down there. She was litterally amazed. I weighed in at 308.5 pounds but that was with my footwear and clothing on which I tried to make a light as possible before going in. So I guess that I am at about 307 pounds. Which makes my total weight loss at 43 pounds.

The rest of the day was uneventful. I passed on going out with RD and Ed. I was planning on cleaning my room in preparation for this coming weekend but I ended up just being too tired to do anything and layed around until about midnight. Then I went to sleep. Adding to my lack of sleep. I don't know why I do that.

Monday Recap

Monday was a pretty good day also. I started it off by going to work and being incredibly tired. Well, good news comes when you least expect it. I am being promoted and also it is back at my old school that I was at most of last school year. I got a call at work on Monday. It was my boss telling me that if I accept I will be the new Lead at my old school. I'm like, WHOA! This is great! Of course, I accepted. I will start the regular school year off there. It is the same amount of hours but I will have a pay increase since of course being a Lead includes more responsibility and work involoved. So, that was just awesome. Really made my day. I wish I could start immediately because I know that I am in need of the money. My bills are just killing me. I've really cut back on extracurriculars but the money doesn't seem to be able to stay in my checking account.

The rest of the workday went along as normal. Then that evening I was planning my weekely movie night. This week I took a cencus and it seemed that Bad News Bears would be an acceptable choice for those that were going. It ended up being a small group of Nattie, Reier, Monica, and myself. Many people did not get back to me and some didn't show up that said that they would. The movie was cute and funny, it had more swear words in it than I was expecting for a PG-13 Movie.

After the movie I went bown to DH Browns to hang out for a while afterwards. People were there that were unable to go to the movie or decided not to even call me back and decline. Sometimes I get the drift that people don't answer their phone on purpose when I call. All I am asking for is your company and to hang out with a friend. People are more willing to spend money on a drink that lasts 10 minutes as opposed to a movie that can last 2 hours.

Well, I ended up staying at the bar until about midnight. Big mistake because I had been up since 6:30am without a nap too. So I then went home and went straight to bed and woke up with a small amount of sleep under my belt yet again.

Sunday recap

So here is the scoop. I've been really busy. Last post was on Saturday or something like that. I will break it down by day.

Sunday: I woke up early so that I could go on a 1 day trip to Chicago. Sterno, Shoofly, Ed, and myself all went up to Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs beat the Saint Louis Cardinals. It was a blast. After the long drive we stopped to let me pee in a portapotty at a house that was under construction. I really had to go. I don't think that I have ever had to go that bad in my life. The others didn't seem to understand my pain because when I would say that the McDonalds ahead would work fine we would turn and not even go by it. Oh well, it ended up working out well.

So then we go to Shoo's friend's apartment where we were allowed to park for the evening. Then we went to Giordano's to get some good stuffed deep dish pizza. Mel joined us and also Sterno's friend Teddy, and my sister Shannon stopped in also to hang out for a little bit. We did that then we headed to Wrigley to sit in line for a few hours for our first come first serve bleacher seats. It was awesome! I love the bleacher seats so much more than the other seats that I have been in before. Just being IN the park makes all the difference though.

I ended up seeing the CUBS beat the cardinals in person and inside the Friendly Confines. I am no longer a good luck charm for Ed and Shoofly. They rubbed me one too many times. Then we got done with the game and headed back to get the car and head back to Springfield. We got on the road after 11pm. Traffic was horrible. I ended up getting home and layed down in bed at exactly 3:00am. Yeah, I had to be at work 4 hours after that at 7am. Work sucked that day.

Super Saturday

Today is Saturday. So far it has been a good day. I have been able to hang out with my sister and brother-in-law before they headed back to Champaign. I walked 2 miles at The Park earlier this afternoon with Jenny. Now I am cooking myself a healthy dinner. I'm using the steamer for the first time. Usually my mom does that but I want to learn how to use it and what better way than to get it out, read the directions, and just do it. It wasn't hard. The contraption looks more intimidating than it really is. I also prepared a wonderful salad with spinach and includes zuccini, white onion, celery, and mildly hot peppers. In the steamer I'm cooking whole green beans with a texmex garlic seasoning. I haven't decided on a meat yet, I may just do without a meat because the dietician did say to try to do a meatless meal about 1 time a week.

I had a wonderful time working the door down at the bar last night. A ton of people came in and hung out. It was busy almost all night. It was great. All the ladies were looking great. Especially one in particular. mmmmmmm

I am working the door again tonight. Even more people should come down tonight. I don't have to compete with a damned country music band at the fair. So, come on down and see me!

I won't be trasharific tonight though. Sorry ladies.

Truth, Justice, and the AMERICAN WAY!

Getting Closer

Oh baby baby. I went and weighed myself today. Guess what! I'm not at a plateau like I thought I might be at. I am at 308 pounds which makes my total weight loss at 42 pounds! WAHOOOO! I am so incredibly stoked. I am almost at my first goal of reaching below 300 pounds.

I am working the door both Friday and Saturday evening down at DH Browns. Come and see me and have many many drinks. Stop and chat for a while though. I get sad when people just say hi and then go and have a seat far far away.

I am about to go work out with Mr. Cream Cheese at the FitClub. I am so stoked. I've been keeping active but haven't been there as much as I had planned so I am proud of myself for going today. Start the weekend off right!

Sunday I am going to go to the Cubs vs Cardinals game at Wrigley Field! WAHOO! My first Cub Card game of the year. Very stoked about that too.

Well, I need to get ready to go work out. I will talk to you cool cats later.

The Bachelor

Any girls out there that are interested in me? Put in an application. Who knows, I might already be interested in you. wink wink.

Terrific Tuesday!

For a brief moment my scale said that I weighed 309. It all depends on how I stand on that little beach. But I'm not going to claim that just yet. I want to get on a real scale before I can officially say that I am at that level.

I went grocery shopping for some things that I really wanted to pick up. I got some diet apple juice that was buy one get one free at Schnucks. I also got some Deli meat. I found that lunch meat, even if healthy, has a lot of salt in it. And I think that my sister Jen suggested fresh deli meats because they do not have all the preservatives in it like packaged lunch meat does. I'm still trying to steer clear of excessive salt intake.

I saw Dukes of Hazzard last night. It was flippin awesome. Great action, fun humor, and Sean William Scott and Knoxville are so great in these roles. They do an awesome job. BTW Jessica Simpson is absolutely gorgeous and does not take away from the movie at all knowing how she is in real life.

Thanks to everyone who went to the movie with me. Nattie, Ed, JD, Mandi & Chris, Staci and her friend (who I don't know if I ever caught his name but we know each other, you know how that can happen sometimes?).

Monday monday

Happy Monday everyone!

Movie night tonight. Going to see Dukes of Hazard at Showplace 12 West at 7:40pm. Decent group coming so far. I hear good things about the movie. Come one, come all! Call me or text message me if you think you would be interested in joining the group. It is a mixed group to start with so don't feel like you are imposing. I just love when people I know can get together and do something fun. Especially movies which I enjoy immensely.

This weekend was a good one. Friday was Mr. Shoo's 24th birthday. Saturday was just another day but it still seemed better than normal. Sunday I went to Music in the Parks series at Washington Park where they had Celtic bands playing some awesome Celtic music for FREE! They even had bagpipers and celtic dancers. Sterno, Jeremiah, Kirsten, and Lori joined me at the park. Everyone else was MIA. Then I had a late dinner with RD and Andy at Barrel Head and then called it a night.

I have now lost 37 pounds which puts me at 313 pounds!!!

I have been doing exceptionally well with eating healthy. I also have done well with exercising. I exercised 4 our of the last 5 days. I took Friday off to catch up on sleep. I plan on heading to FitClub here in a few minutes to get my workout on.

My tips

My tips for losing the unwanted weight.

1. No fried foods.
2. No cola beverages
3. Don't eat after dinner
4. Especially don't eat 4 hours before bedtime.
5. Drink tons of water.
6. Eat a variety of fresh fruits and fresh or frozen vegetables every single day.
7. Don't skip breakfast
8. If snacking, make it a fresh fruit.
9. Read nutritional labels (Look for low calorie, low fat, and high fiber)
10. Cut salt out of daily diet.

This is in response to Jessie's 8/1 blog entry. All of this is common sense but when you actually stick to it, guess what, it works. There are other personal touches that everyone should add once they get the hang of it. Like me, I'm trying not to drink alcohol unless it is a special occassion, not just because I can.

New Same Old

Well last night I got my new cell phone in the mail. I'm slowly putting phone numbers back into it since I had none saved to my SIM Chip. Call me, my cell number is the same as it always has been.

So last night Mr. Shoo had a keg at the bar for his 24th birthday. It was awesome. So many people came out. I was working the door, checking ID's. It was a really good time. Although some people were a little upset with me because I did not go out after the bar closed. I wasn't drinking last night and my stomach was growling. I don't eat after dinner now and I had already drank a ton of water which helped to a degree but I find that going to bed is the best way to curve a hungry stomach late at night. Enough about me, again, Shoo's birthday was a great time. I kind of wish I was not working and drinking with him but I know that he can have a good time whether I am there or not.

I work the door at the bar tonight again. Seeing as how everyone and their mom was out last night I doubt that there will be anyone out to keep me company at the door again. Also I am going to be working the door NEXT Friday and Saturday also. I am taking some extra days because I am in need of money. Luckily this is the best kind of extra money type of job. I can still be social, have a few drinks, talk on my phone, all while carding and checking birthdates. Plus I've gotten to know some really neat people because of working the door at the bar.

Although that reminds me, Koch was at the bar last night. One of the few times he ever comes into town. Surprised the hell out of me. I didn't expect him at all. He hung out and we chatted all night while I worked the door. I sure wish he would come home more often but he works and goes to school at UofI and he never has time to do anything, literally.

Shout out to my boys Benny in Colorado and Crowy in Wisconsin. Miss you guys.

Strange Occurance

So last night I wake up in the shower. Yeah, I sleep walked. I haven't done that since I was a kid of like 6 or 7 years old. I think that it must be the working out that I have just started. I almost passed out at 11pm last night while over at a coworker's playing poker. I came straight home and disrobed and passed out. Then people start calling me and pissing me off. I stopped answering after the first call from Mr. Shoo. Anywho, the sleep walking kind of freaked me out. I think I had a dream that I was late for work or something and was trying to rush to get showered so that I could make it there. I kind of gather my senses while I am under the cold water but still in a deep daze. I get out dry off and go back to bed. It was only 3am and I had at least 3 hours before I needed to get up for real.

So today I had planned on going to work out again during my break. I am putting that on hold until at the soonest after work because I work tonight at Browns and I cannot afford to feel like passing out at 11pm. Obviously I need sleep if I am passing out and sleep walking. Crazy stuff. Does anyone else have sleep walking stories? Do share...

I am BUFF!

Jesus Christ, I am buff. I did one of those magical scales that send electrodes through you and tells you your composition. My fat free mass weighs in at 213.8 pounds. Do you realize how buff that makes me? Shoot if I lose as much weight as I want to lose I would have no body fat at all.

Also, btw, I am down to 315.2 pounds according to the special impulse scale at the FitClub that they put me on. So I have lost about 35 pounds thus far. It fluctuates with the mass amounts of water that I drink now. I didn't realize but I have practically cut down to only water and unsweetened iced tea besides the occasional juice and milk with a meal. The fitness person was very impressed with how hydrated I was, which is something that helps the machine work better. Also hydrated cells help in the burning of fat and calories too. A great booster for losing weight, water.

My blood pressure is still pretty high. They clocked it at 138/104. Not good. I've been trying to eat less salt and fat and now I'm starting to exercise finally. Any other suggestions?

Problematic Cell Phone

My cell phone has been on the fritz lately. Well now it has really gone batty and I finally have a new one coming to me because this one was under warranty. BUT it won't be here until Monday or Tuesday because I am cheap and wouldn't do the 2 day shipping for like 8 bucks. Ground was free so that is what I did. SO until I get my new phone I have no screen to see who has called me, to see or send text messages. I can receive incoming calls and I can dial out manually. The phone works just not the screen. I can't see anything on it cause it is like it is burnt out. So as of like next Tuesday, I will finally have a working cell phone again. YAY! Until then call me cause I probably won't be calling you.

Finally!

Oh boy, I have finally done it.

I went and worked out at FitClub today with Phil. I did a little low impact bicycle and a little tred mill. I don't want to hurt my foot more so I am trying not to stress it out too much but I did enough to raise the heart rate and get a sweat going.

Also while I was there I finally scheduled my free Fitness Assessment with one of their personal trainers. Which is tomorrow at 11am. That should be fun. I have done this before the first time that I joined FitClub. I remember that they show me how to use the machines and such and also weigh me and show me how much body fat and muscle mass that I have.

I'm so stoked. I can feel the pounds falling off faster already! WAHOO!

Yay! For the healthy way!

Can't wait

Oh boy I cannot wait until I am thin...

This is almost like Christmas and a Birthday all rolled into one big deal. My life will be so much better when I am thin. Yes, thin. I will say thin because that it how it is going to be for me. I plan on getting thin. I want people to be able to describe me as a thin guy.

Mels asks if it will be "Nakie Kys" all the time. My reply is that I will just have to see how I feel about it when I get there. I've not been one to just go showing off my bod but alas it has not always been a bod that someone would typically show off.

August already? Sheesh...

So, it is August. I cannot believe it. This year of my life is just flying by. I guess that will happen when you work a real job and it occupies most of your day.

I am still trying to get myself to go to the gym. You would think with the amount of will power I have had towards eating healthily would spill over into working out but as of right now it has not. At the moment I plan on working out in about 45 minutes. I'll let you know how that goes.

I went and saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night with Nattie. That was freaking awesome. What a trip that was. Weird but good.

Now that's CHICAGO!

Miramax Home Entertainment will release the Collector's Edition of the Academy Award Winning Chicago on September 13th. This 3-disc set will be presented in a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS audio tracks.
