Mini Trip

Mini trip, mini trip, I love you... I looooooove you.

Tell me what that is in the tune to and you win a pat on the back.

Well, this week has been a long long week. I have calculated that from last Saturday through today (Friday) I have worked a total of 68.5 hours and seperate I had 3 hours in 1 night class. Sleep has been little to none. Fun, I still manage to squeeze it in. I wouldn't be able to function in life without some fun mental breaks. Monday I went to Chili's with people for the St. Jude's thing where all proceeds the whole day go to St. Jude. Tuesday was all work. Wednesday work and class. Thursday all work, but I did go downtown after the night job and hung out for a while before hitting the hay. Now, I am done working for just about 24 hours.

Shortly I am heading to Champaign to puppy-sit with my friend Jessica for my sister and brother-in-law. I figure we will get some grub and then chill out and relax and watch some DVDs all while keeping an eye on Callie (featured in the previous post). My sister and Bro-in-law are going to an out of state wedding and can't take the puppy with them.

Sorry for the lack of postings. I assume everyone figures it is because of my busy work schedules that I keep. I do check between shifts... sometimes. I don't always have time to comment or post. Of course if you know the #, you can call me too.

Question: Why are there people who have the right of way when driving, and you wait for them to get going, and then they go and give you a thank you wave? They had the right of way the whole time, dumb people.

Callie

I'm an uncle! Well, kinda but not really. My sister and brother-in-law got a puppy a few weeks ago. They were here last weekend and I snapped a few photos of the cute little thing. Enjoy!

Freaking Exhausted

So, I've been working my butt off. I'm sure I don't say this nearly enough. My free time is limited and is hard to plan around. Today I just worked 14 hours, nearly straight. There was a little commuting inbetween. I did manage to stop off at DH and have a beverage with Smols who was working. I haven't even been online in 2 days. Forgot to put up an away message and that upsets people, sorry. The construction at my night job is nearly complete. Yay! I'm so ready to have a normal store to work in again. For the day job, the 3 week break officially starts on Monday. I will be working from 7-3 for the next 3 weeks. Fun stuff.

Tomorrow I work 10-6 with the day job then I'm working the door down at DH Browns like usual. Everyone should come down and hang out with me at the door. I will probably be letting off some steam and relaxing.

It sucks when you are working for long shifts and your feet start to hurt. It sucks even more when you are off of your feet finally and your feet are still throbbing as though you are still standing. I am going to sleep well tonight. About to hit the hay. Goodnight party people.

PS. I saw gas this evening for 2 dollars per gallon. How freaking awesome is that??

Heluva awesome

Just Me

I can only be myself. Sorry, I can't be someone else.

Today (Wednesday) was a fun day. Woke up to go to work and my car was dead. Yep, my baby was dead and wasn't doing a darn thing. So I call my supervisor and let her know that I will be late. I then proceed to use my mom's car to jump my car. It works. I drive to work. I park the car. Then just to try it out after I turn the car off I try to start it right back up. It doesn't. It is yet again dead as can be. So then the janitor helps me jump my car after my morning shift. I drive the car straight to the dealer. Drop it off (10:45am), have a few other things done to it while it is in there, oil change, fuel system flush, and fuel filter changed. I then get picked up there and go home, just to turn around and drive my mom's car to class. I finish class and come home and call to check on my car. 1:45pm by this time, they say it just got in the bay and it would be longer than an hour before it is done. I have to be back at work by 2:30, so then I say, fine, I assume it will be done by 10:30am tomorrow morning? They say, of course. We say our goodbyes, and then I mentally prepare myself for bumming my parent's car for the next day. 5 minutes later the dealer calls me and says that my car is finished and that I can come get it. I'm like, um, I talked to you 5 minutes ago and it was an hour. They said something to the extent that the other guy that I talked to didn't know how far along it was. So then my dad drives me out there to pick it up. A good chunck of change later, I am driving my car to work. Then to night class. Then to hang out with RD. And now here I am. The car is running smooth as ever now. Oh, apparently my battery was just dead, that's all. I think the culprit was my cell phone car charger because when plugged in it glows and the outlet always has power. SO it has been slowly slowly ever so slowly killing my battery until today when it killed it the rest of the way. So I now know, only plug it in when I'm actually charging the cell phone.

SNAKES!

Heck Yeah! It's about time. I'm going to see Snakes on a Mutha F'in Plane this evening. Cheesy, corny, stupid, say whatever you want but I am going to enjoy this movie. Has anyone else seen it yet? It's been out about 3 weeks or so now. I haven't heard anyone really discussing it.

Other than that, working and schooling are a majority of my time. Good news, of my many medical bills, as of today I have one paid off. Yay!

Have a Magnificent Monday!

You say hello, and I say goodbye

Man, what a long week. I think it is because Monday was a holiday but this week dragged on and on.

We got a new DVD player finally. It's nice too. Just a single disc one though but much better actually than our older 5 disc changer. Ed pointed me in the right direction on what to pick out for our needs.

What is really nice is that it plays homemade CDs and DVDs now. Our old one wasn't cool like that.

These are the specs on the dvd player

Sleeping pills. I've had sleep issues lately. I figured I would take some sleeping meds to help get me to sleep when I need to be asleep. That's fine. The problem is when they don't seem to wear off when I am up and at'em in the morning. They appear to linger.

Getting over the hump

Well well well, middle of the day on Wednesday already. Where does the time go? This is probably the longest day I've had in a long time. AM work, noon class, PM work, class, then night job. I'm also going on 2.5 hours of sleep because I decided to do some homework last night after I got off from the night job. I hope to lay down for about 20 minutes here in a minute because I won't have anytime until about 1am. Ick. Looking forward to tomorrow. Then working the door at the bar as usual on Friday evening. THEN SLEEPING IN ON SATURDAY! I don't have much else to report. My time is very much occupied and all by important things. I must attempt 20 minutes now so I don't pass out while standing up at work later tonight. Later people!

Partial Recap

During the day on Friday I went and shot some hoops with Benny, Crow, and Bart. Philly was supposed to show, and did, but after I had to leave. Slowpoke.

Ed's unofficial going away party. See, he is even waving goodbye to everyone. Bye Ed!

My table at the wedding on Saturday. They were a blast. I found that Lu and I both have a fondness for champagne fountains. Watch out for the chocolate fountain though, it gets messy.

Can't forget Marty!

Me and the lovely couple. A little blurry though...

This pic is so much better, probably because I'm not in it!

My after wedding party with my best buds and their best ladies... heh. (not trying to insinuate that they have more than one, of course) :)

This is what I was in for after my buddies split Saturday night.

My reaction

Jen and Jeff's new super cute puppy, Callie.

All in all, I had an awesome labor day weekend. Sad to say it is over. Stayed out late all 3 nights but one night will remain the best.

Oh BOY!

Finally! I know that it is a piece of crap movie but you know I love anything Superman-esque. At my video store we are selling all our VHS for 2 bucks. Well, it just occurred to me tonight to check and see if we have a copy of STEEL, a Shaq movie. Steel is a Superman Universe character. This is a horrible incarnation of the Steel of which I used to collect his comic books. Well, I finally got it. It is so bad that they haven't and probably won't release it on DVD. So VHS is it! I didn't want to spend big bucks to get it and this is the cheapest I'll ever find considering shipping rates. YAY!
