Nothing New-ish

I've been sick(yes, again) I don't know what it is really. I don't think it is the flu. It is a sort of no energy, feverish, sinusy, dry cough thing. I've been taking the necessary precautions such as no alcohol, plenty of sleep, staying hydrated, and medicating myself. I think that I am getting better as it started around Thursday and I am feeling better but not 100% yet.

Moving is coming along slowly. As I have said before, packing up my entire life is hard and is a slow process. There is a lot of stuff to sort through to either, keep, throw out, or burn. I do have my car packed with one load to take over right now with about 6 to 8 boxes and a television in my front seat which I hope to unload tomorrow after my day job. Also packing between jobs is no fun. Since I'm still working quite a bit it is hard to pack when I am exhausted from all the working. I'm just ready to be moved out and then moved in. I wish I could wiggle my nose and make it all be done.

This coming Friday and Saturday I am working both nights at Brown's. Friday 9-1 like usual and then a special appearance by me on Saturday from 7pm-1am. Everyone should come down and hang out. Blow off a little steam and throw back a few cold ones.

Blog Post 1000

Huzzah! This is my 1000th blog post since I started blogging back in March of 2004. Crazy how time flies.

My life status is finally changing a little bit. I am moving out of the parents house for good. It is about time too. I'm moving to the northside of town. A friend has been gracious and invited me to live at her place for an affordable price in a really nice duplex.

Right now I am taking a break from cleaning. Throwing crud away so that I can get to the actual packing. It is weird to pack up your whole life. Decide what you need, what you want, and what you can live without. I want to take as much as I can but at the same time I don't want to start my new place off with a bunch of clutter from my childhood. I hope to be moved out/moved in by the 1st of April.

Spring is in the air. It's getting to that time when those who are not already in relationships seek out relationships. Why is it that Spring brings on the dating? I think it is the fact that it has been cold and people have been couped up and they are now looking to make a connection of sorts.

I'll be there someday. I look forward to the day when I fall off the map.

Too Much

This is getting to be too much. It has done it 2 more times now. More than a little freaked out now. Hadn't made it to bed yet, definately going now because I surely won't beable to hear it from my room through closed doors. Eeek!

A Little Freaked Out

Okay. So I don't scare too easily. I do startle easily but that isn't necessarily scared. I'm a little scared.

It is about 2:30am and I am sitting here at my computer just browsing blogs and checking my online stuff. It is totally quiet. I grew up in this house and I feel totally safe in this house. That is until something like this happens.

When I was growing up we had this Halloween doorbell that my mom always hung outside on Halloween night. It was a evil looking jack-o-lantern and you knock the knocker and it would make creepy noises and say things like beware and welcome in an evil sounding voice. I always thought it was cute and fun to do when I would enter the house.

It is March. Halloween decor has been put away for months. Where the decor has been stored I don't know. Usually it is put in the attic on the rafters until next season when we go up and get it down again. Again, I am sitting here and it is quiet, it is the middle of the night. It goes off. YES! It just went off and I have no idea where it came from. I immediately think, what a weird time for us to get a ghost. I don't totally believe in ghosts but I do believe anything is possible. Logically I assume something in the box that it is in shifted and pressed the button somehow. BUT why now? Why 5 months later? I have no idea. This has never happened before and it only went off once. This is why I am a little freaked out.

I just walked around the house and made sure that all locks on all the doors are locked. I'm going to bed now and pray that the boogieman does not get me.

"Kiss on my list"

Hall & Oates rock.

Now, with that out of the way. This has been a great and exhausting week. I have had a lack of sleep due to late night socializing and working quite a bit. Daytime naps have been in full effect this week. Without the naps I probably would have died from sleep deprivation by now.

So much going on and so much not going on the blog. Man, oh man.

Tomorrow night I am going to see John Prine at UIS. I'm pretty excited but I won't lie, I only know one song of his which is the Brown's theme song. "In spite of ourselves" I am looking forward to hearing his other songs, who knows, if I like him enough I may go out and buy a CD of his. That is what I did for Paul Sanchez when I saw and met him at the Bottom of the Hilton over a week ago. I actually bought it from him and got it signed. Paul "Poppy" Sanchez is an awesome guy. Maybe I can meet John Prine and purchase a CD from him and get it signed. That would be really cool. I'll have to make sure to take enough cash, just incase.

Lazy Sunday

Man, I'm tired. I blame it on my dad. He had me get up super early for a Sunday (9:30am) and help him move a desk into the back of his truck. After that I should have gone back to bed. Did I go back to bed? Nope. For some stupid reason I decided that I was good to go. Now I can barely keep my eyes open. I still may lie down for a bit but then again there is an exhibition game on WGN today of the Cubs versus the White Sox at 2pm, which is in a few minutes.

I have to work Hollywood tonight. Ugh. My energy has been nil lately and working nights doesn't help because for normal people that time is wind down and go to bed time. For me it is work and make some money and sacrifice sleep time.

Kyle House Owner

Has a nice ring to it doesn't it? I haven't told many people because this is in the very very early stages. I called my bank to see how big of a loan I could get based on my credit and income. At this point I am just doing this to size up my options. I could rent an apartment, I could rent a house, or I could just purchase a house that would be mine.

I know some of you are probably thinking, "Oh Lord" and you could be right. I say why pay rent to someone for something that you will never own and cannot resell down the road when you can own a home.

The good thing is that I do not require a huge house. I actually want a small quaint house. I've already been getting some advice. Suggestions and thoughts are okay providing you don't try to make me feel like a piece of crap. IF I do this, I don't plan on doing it until late spring or early summer. I am not rushing this because this is not something that a person rushes into, obviously.

Just Call Me

I don't know why people don't call people back. Especially when a message is left and in the message it is specifically said to call the person back. Then there is the fact of never calling back. I can understand if a person is busy that day or night but weeks go by without a return phone call is kind of rude. A simple "hey sorry, I've been busy" return call goes a long way. Then I start to wonder, does this happen to alot of people anymore? Is this a new trend? I know individuals who are notorious for not answering their phone and never calling back, which makes me wonder why they have phones. It just seems to be happening on a larger scale now, not just 1 or 2 people but pushing the majority.
