Itsa overdue

Well people, I guess it is overdue. A picture post. Even though I am super super busy what with 3 jobs and 2 college classes and other interests, I do manage to have a little fun. Phil and I had one last hurrah with Ed and Amanda before they move up to Chicago this coming Saturday. The 4 of us went to the Cubs vs. Cardinals game on Friday night down in Saint Louis at the New Busch Stadium. It was a blast. The Cubs lost unfortunatly but that doesn't mean that K can't have a good time. Seeing as how my camera can only hold about 30 photos due to it's small factory memory card, I had to pick and choose photos as new photo ops arose. We met up with Shoo, GTG, Wilsie, and Lori at a bar afterwards. Then the 4 of us tried to get all of them to go to a cheaper, less crowded, and more fun bar but all declined. We still headed over there and that place was a blast. The bartenders were superfriendly and the patrons, well, they knew how to party.
AHHHH!

Philly rubbing my head, must be why the Cards won...

Reactions to a botched play

I am a giant!

Philly, wondering why he is sitting by me.

Ah yes, the beverages.

Still wondering...

Oh Philly, either you just woke up or... well, something illegal. Jk.

The 4 of us. Ed ducked just enough to fit himself into my group self portrait.

Realizing that I didn't smile in the photo above, attempted another one but Ed was the only one paying attention.

Holy Graphics Batman!

Probably discussing a play that occurred. Or talking about So

Cheese!

I think that this one speaks for itself.

Where's Shoodo? A guestimated photo of where Shoodo is in the crowd. Can you find him? And his cane, magic scroll, and canteen?

Cards fans, happy about the win.

Blondie and Baldie, that Cubs fans representing the other 50% of the group.

Alien Versus Predator

The "oh well, I lost but had a great time" photo

New Busch at night, see the Arch?

Super excited Lori!

Philly, ready for another beverage.

Gtg and Mr. Shoo, why does he always have to do that? Such a rebel.

I'm super, thanks for asking!

Oh! Oh! What's that? Me with a tasty beverage? Why yes indeedy!

The cheaper, less crowded bar we went to. Yeah, that's what I thought.

The ride home...

And I'm spent.

Just a thought

In the movie world, there is the original and the sequel. When you have a third movie is there a name for it so that you know it is the 3rd without saying the 3rd. You say sequel to know that it is the 2nd. I've heard people say 3rd sequel, which doesn't necessarily make sense.

Man oh Man

Has anyone heard about the recent drug traffic bust in Springfield? I heard about it on the radio this morning. I know the guy, played football with him. I know his wife too, well since 1st grade. Here is a link to the SJR article.

Demotion? Poor Pluto...

Pluto Demoted, Loses Planetary Status
From Associated Press
9:06 AM PDT, August 24, 2006

PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- For decades, it's been confused with a cartoon dog and ridiculed as a puny poser. Now Pluto, the solar system's consummate cling-on, has suffered its worst humiliation: It's not even a planet anymore.

After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, leading astronomers today stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930. The new definition of what is -- and isn't -- a planet fills a centuries-old black hole for scientists who have labored since Copernicus without one.

The historic vote by the International Astronomical Union officially shrinks Earth's neighborhood from the traditional nine planets to eight.

To read more go to google news and search Pluto

I just don't know what to think anymore, kicking Pluto out of the club. Seems kind of harsh.

Germy Children

Germy children have directly or indirectly given me a cold. So far nothing as bad as last time but a head cold nonetheless. What's up with all these colds going around in the middle of summer. Aren't colds supposed to happen when it is cold outside? Hence the name, cold.

Oh well, I am at llcc right now, about to go to my day class, and then tonight I have my night class. Should be fun. I've already ran into people I know. llcc, the 13th grade...

Busier Still Busier

Well, it is possible folks, I am going to be even busier than I have been in the past 2 months. Monday I start 1 of my 2 fall classes at LLCC. So now I will be balancing day job, night job, door job, and 2 college classes. I won't have much free time so if you get me during any of it, that's a good thing.

No Fair

Well, no fair for me this year. No Vose's corndog and no strawberry milkshake from the dairy building. I'm probably better off, I suppose.

Ick

Long long day. I worked 7-9, then had a meeting from 12 til 2:30 then worked 2:30-6 then came home changed clothes and drove to night job and worked 6:30-12:50am then decided to say hi to RD and stopped in his bar. He wasn't there but I met up with a buddy of mine and his friends and hung out until about 1:45am (drinking water mind you). Now I'm home, finishing my dinner for 8 hours ago and about to pass out. I get to somewhat do it all again in just a few hours since I have to be at work at 7am, TGIF though! WOOOO! I love the weekend, I get to sleep in.... sleep is good. I'm just about there. Goodnight!

Work work work

Well, I work quite a bit over the next 4 days. Each night I will be working. It helps pay the bills. Looking forward to next week, I get paid at all my jobs. I should be able to take care of some things then without putting a damper on my own finances. If I am able to make it to the fair this year, then it would probably be Saturday or Sunday during the day since that is my only free time before the end. This has been a big week. Things are well. That's all I got. Oh, I'll be at DH Brown's Friday evening as per usual.

Big News!

(for me)

Well, I realized today that I wasn't going to be getting my grade in the mail from LLCC for my summer class. They do their grades online now. So I went to the website to set up my LLCC online account, I figure it is about time anyway. I get it all ready then I click the grades link. I then click the summer 2006 link. Then LOW AND BEHOLD, I see it. Something that I haven't seen in a while. I got a BIG FAT A for my summer class Introduction to Teacher Education. I was so happy that I went out and celebrated by having a few waters down at the bar. I even sang a kareoke song over at Moho's next door. It is confirmed that I sound like crap when it is just me singing(shh, don't tell). I still believe that I sound awesome when I'm singing along with the actual artist. Anywho, I'm pretty stoked about that.

Knock three times on the ceiling

Rather uneventful day thus far. Worked, relaxed, worked, and now I'm home. I'm not sure what I'm doing tonight but hopefully something or maybe even just sit down to read a good book. I'm always slacking in that department. Who knows, maybe I'll go to the bar. I haven't been there on a Monday in over a month.

California Dreaming

So, I wish I had some big trip planned. I wish I could just take off and go on a vacation. I was thinking, I had planned to go on at least 2 canoe trips this summer. Didn't happen. The most I have done is go to Saint Louis 2 times both for Cubs Cards games and once to Peoria for a Peoria Chiefs game. I think that is all I have done. Besides that I've been stuck here in Springfield. Oh, at the beginning of May I went to Chicago to participate in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica. I got caught up in working I suppose. Then I started this new night job for extra income and it's all history from there. Working 65 hours a week keeps a guy busy.

And the beat goes on

Last night was the new typical. Worked until 12:40am then headed downtown to hang out with people, really just whoever was out. I didn't have to be the DD for anyone which was cool. Cool as in, no one was trashed, at least of people I knew...

Went to the restaurant/bar Wings Ect. over on N. Dirksen with Ed, Robyn, and Erica. I was not impressed. I still prefer the wings at Showme's. Then we tried out this hole in the wall bar called The Cove on Dirksen. It was interesting and I enjoyed it. One of those neighborhood type bars where everyone knows everyone. I like those.

Then I headed home and I'm getting ready for the night job. I hope it is either really busy or not busy at all, either one helps the night to go by faster. Let's get this week started!

Lazy Saturday

Well, not that lazy. Had to help my dad fix the air conditioning unit over at the duplex. So, obviously I was abruptly woken up. After being DD again last night, I ended up getting home around 4am and asleep by 4:30am. I was pretty tired but I didn't get back to sleep after helping out. Instead I've been pretty useless, just a load of laundry so far. I do have to work at the video store tonight from 6 - 12:30am. I'll probably be out after that. If I get off early enough I'll stop in Brown's but I'll probably head next door.

Hanging out with Ed tomorrow, one last hurrah in our busy schedules before he leaves for Chicago to become a millionaire. Don't forget the little people buddy.

There was a big group out last night. I was a little worried for a while though. I got there at 8:45 and I didn't have to card anyone until almost 10. Seriously, for about 30-45 minutes it was just the staff in the place. I've never seen the bar that dead on a Friday evening. It picked up later. 11-1 was a decent crowd.

Current mood: Happy

Feeling Better

Well, I slept, alot; and I drank, alot of juice. I wish I could lounge around longer but I don't want to start eating away at my sick days already. I had a ton saved up last year but then used them all up between my 2 hospital stays. I cannot assume that nothing will happen again because life is too unpredictable. Anything can happen. So I'm working my afternoon shift in a little bit and then working the door at Browns this evening. Anyone coming out to visit with me while I work? I always enjoy a familiar face.

Looking Good

.

So I was at the grocery store picking up lots of juice to help get myself healthy and hydrated again. I ran into an old girlfriend of mine. Haven't seen her in ages and we don't talk anymore either. She didn't recognize me until she saw my name on the credit card slip. She says, "Oh that's who you are" so apparently she thought she knew me somehow. Then so goes on to say, "Looking good Kyle, looking real good." To which I simply replied thanks. I then was on my merry way, I'm pretty fatigued right now because of this sickness so I don't feel like chatting it up. It was interesting though, an old flame throwing me a compliment like that.

Credit where credit is due

.

I am currently eating a bag of Munchies Cheese Mix. While eating it I am thinking about how good they are and how someone out there in Frito Lay land came up with the idea to do the combinations in the different munchie varieties. I feel that with products like this or even brand new products by big companies like that, the person who came up with the idea should be given some kind of credit on each bag. Can you imagine? I feel that this would help encourage the product inventors to come up with better ideas and more quality products. Then when people are eating something as delicious as Munchies the consumer can be like "Thank you John Doe, for being so creative!" And in the same respect John Doe can be like, "see that right there, that's me! I came up with this product." In conclusion, I feel that people should get the credit for their genius when creating a consumer product.

Sleepless in Springfield

Well, apparently working 3 jobs and not being able to sleep when it is time to do so will cause a person to get sick. I am under the weather. The doctor made me call off from my works. I was like, well, I work with children with one, but the other is retail and he said, take that one off too. Darn. I have sick days with the day job but I lose money if I can't work the night job. Feeling better is priority number one. So meds, fluids, and plenty of rest. I cannot afford to be sick. I was doing so well. I hadn't been to the doctor for a cold in months.

I've already had a nap today. I plan on getting to bed early and sleeping in late.

On a lighter note. The Illinois State Fair was kicked off tonight with the parade. Anyone plan on attending this year? I want to go but my time is very limited. I work all 3 nights this weekend and pretty busy during the week. I have Monday night free. That might be it, possibly Wednesday, but that is if I don't do something else.

What is your favorite fair food(s)?
