Fun Weekend

Well I just had an awesome weekend. Friday evening I worked the door at DH. That was fun. A few people came into see me which I always enjoy. Then the real fun came after I got off work and went next door. Some acquaintences of mine had hit the peach vodka pretty hard and were fiesty. If you want to know those details you will have to ask me in person.

Saturday P. and I went to Peoria to start off my buddy's bachelor party weekend. It was tame but fun. Hanging out with my best bud's is always a good time.

Sunday we went up to Chicago for a Chicago Cubs game for the bachelor party. That was a blast. I FINALLY SAW THE CUBS WIN IN PERSON! We paid good money to watch from one of the Roof Top Partners that are on top of the buildings that are across from Wrigley Field. We were on one that is on Waveland Avenue. It was all you can eat and all you can drink once you were up there. Let's say that I took advantage and got my money's worth with at least 10 beverages, 2 double cheese burgers, 2 braughts, and 3 polish sausages. And I also snagged about 7 cookies. Oh man it was a great time. Then afterwards we went to a nearby pub called The Full Shilling where everyone continued partying. We stayed there until a little before 8pm and then headed back to Peoria and then P and I went back to Springfield.

Monday was a chill and laid back day. I ended up hanging out with P and Katherine at a lake park and playing frisbee and sitting around at the lakeside.

All in all it was an awesome weekend.

Brothers forever.

Rolling in Style

Yes folks it finally happened. I got a new car. Well, it is new to me but it is practically brand new too. I got a 2004 Ford Taurus SE and it is sweet and huge. It only is setting me back $218 a month for the next 5 years. But yeah, I am very happy with it and it is sooooo nice. Luxury baby! Now I just need to tint the windows and get some spinners on it and I'm all set.

This week has been uneventful because I have been trying to get to bed early. Also I am trying to save up money for this coming weekend. The reason for saving is that it is my buddy's bachelor party. We are going to Chicago to see a Chicago Cubs game from one of the Roof Top Partners. All you can eat and all you can drink during the game. It is going to be a kick ass time.

All I gotta say

So it is Sunday already. Time is flying. Duf and Emily were married last night. Congratulations to both of them. I was fortunate enough to be able to join them on their very special day. It was a great time. It was almost like a HS Reunion. I saw my 5th grade teacher and chatted with her for about 20 minutes. I saw friends whom I have not seen in forever and hopefully it will not be forever again before I see them next. I danced the night away. I can tell that I am getting older because woooooooweee that wore me out. My feet still hurt the next morning from all that dancing. It feels surreal that the wedding has actually happened and is over now. It is like I am still waiting for it to happen but in a flash it did happen.

Congratulation Duf and Em again!

She's Gone

She left me. She's gone. My dad sold her off this morning. The Geo is gone. No more pretty red 4 door shuttle. So what do I do now? Now I drive my mom's car whenever I have the chance. That is until I purchase a new vehicle. Still shooting for a truck. But now time is the main factor. When we can get out and look for the right vehicle that I will have for the next 3 to 5 years.

Finally, I figured it out, but it took a long long time

Well folks, I finally figured out what is wrong with me. I went to Prompt Care today to see what all the hubbub was about and they said to me that I have bronchitis. YAY! I haven't had that in a while, I guess that I was due. The gave me the always awesome Z-Pak which nips this kind of thing in the bud in 5 days. I'm just ready to get rid of this because I have been coughing so much that my stomach muscles are incredibly sore right now that it hurts to do a sit up or cough more. My co-workers even commented on how poor in health I looked this morning. Eeeek. It passed though but the soreness will be a few days I'm sure.

Other than that. My car died yet again last night even after my dad fixed it in my employer's parking lot while I was working. It didn't die right away though. It decided to give me false hope and wait until I was on my way home from a movie at midnight. Luckily I have a great friend who turned right around from going home and met back up with me in a dark parking lot to help me jump start my car and follow me home the rest of the way.

My dad will probably be selling my car asap just to get it off our hands. I may be without a vehicle until we can shop around for a truck for me. So how does that sound folks? Who wants to be my chauffer?

Stupid Car

So my car is being stupid again. I just cannot get rid of it quick enough.

This morning I am driving to work for my morning shift. I get about half of the way there and all of a sudden it dies. Not totally this time though. This time was a little different. First my clock and radio go off. The vent fan shuts off. Then all my guages go down. I'm like oh crap, here we go again, it's dying. But no, my engine is still running. I hit the gas and I am still going. I thought I was going to coast to a stop again. So I am still able to drive it the rest of the way to work. I sit in the parking lot and let my car run for a minute longer expecting it to die. So I'm like, great, just great. I go into work do my shift then when I come back out to my car it won't even turn over, like the starter is dead. What is weird is that my headlights still work, my hazards still work, my domelight works, the battery light is on, and the beeping noise when the keys are in the ignition works. So it is not totally dead like last time. This time it seems to be more electrical or something. Maybe it is just a fuse or something. We should check that out. So my boss offers me a ride home. I accept. Now my car is just sitting at work dead. Good thing I cleaned it out yesterday. Maybe we can just get it towed to the place where I bought it from a year and a half ago. I really need a new vehicle. I hope I get a truck soon.

Movie time

So I've been trying to catch up on movies. Sunday I saw Sahara. It was a pretty good action movie. Steve Zahn was in it and I always forget how much I love his style until I see him in a new movie. He is a very funny guy.

Monday night I saw the movie Crash which is a good "make you think" type of movie and has even been described as "Heavy". It has an all star cast and is very well acted. It deals with racial prejudices and issues and I recommend it.

I have no idea what I will see this coming week.

Birthdays

Happy bithday to Kirsten yesterday and happy birthday to Philly today. 23 and 25 respectively. Last night we went out and Kirsten celebrated in style. I have no idea what is going on for Philly's birthday as of now.

Wanna Fanta

Okay, I am in love with the Fanta Girls. You know what I'm talking about. Those crazy energetic girls that show up when you are at your thirstiest and just sing and dance all crazy like. I am waiting for them to show up. I'm thirsty all the time. Come on ladies!

K's Rental Shop

So I have a rental shop going on now. I actually encourage it too. I have a ton of DVD's. Sure I don't have the best choices sometimes but they are my choices nonetheless. I let people "rent" out of my collection so long as they promise to get it back to me in a timely manner. Like my brother in law borrowed Bourne Identity and Superman II for his flight back to LA. Now, I know I won't be getting those for a few months but those are their circumstances and that is fine. My sister in Chicago just borrowed The Usual Suspects and Braveheart. I also just lent The Big Lebowski to a coworker at DH too. So, It is cool if you want to pick through my collection. That is one of many reasons why I have a decent amount of DVDs because then I can share my love for movies with friends and family. I know I have at least 2 friends who want to rummage but just never seem to make it over here.

My newest addition is the Back To The Future Trilogy Boxed Set.

Less and Less

1 class left. I'm cleaning my car and hopefully getting a new car. I'm stoked. The new position at work is going great. Summer is almost here. I'm starting to get a tan.

I work the door tonight. Come in and see me or just come in and avoid me. I don't care.

Hitching a ride

So, My Geo decided to die on me right in the middle of a turn lane on Stanford this evening. It didn't just die it DIED. The battery was kaputz. We tried jumping it but it wouldn't stay on for long. Ended up having it towed. I'm out of a car for right now. Going to be bumming in my mom's until it is fixed I guess.

There is talk about getting a new car. Something 2003 or later. Actually getting a loan and making monthly payments. Maybe even a truck... but a car is more reasonable cause cars do better with the gasolina.

The next vehicle I get will be my 4th one in 8 years. Is that good? Probably not even close. My dad says that I am rough on cars but he still thinks that I drive like I do when I was in high school. Not at all. I usually hover between the speed limit and 5 over. He also says that I take turns roughly but I disagree. I'm kind to my car now. After not having a car for a year and a half makes one appreciate a set of 4 wheels that much more.

Thank you everyone.

I did the Multiple Sclerosis Walk this afternoon. It was great. My dad accompanied me on the walk even though he wasn't registered. It is always nice to have someone walking with you, it isn't as lonely. We acted like he was registered though just for the sake of blending. I raised enough for the both of us.

It was at Washington Park. The walk 1 time around was 1.5 miles and there was option to do 2 laps which then would be 3 miles. My dad and I did the whole 3 miles. All of the "goodie bags" were gone by the time we got done though. I was a little disappointed with this. They said that they had 250 "goodie bags" and they went really fast. I didn't think to stop and get one at the beginning of our second time around. We did have some really good bbq sandwiches which were being served by some very friendly nuns. My dad purchased a MS bracelet for me which says HOPE and nationalmssociety.org on it and it is red. Please DO NOT confuse this with the STL Cardinals bracelets that are out there. It is NOT a STL Cardinals bracelet.

They had neat things there. The Pink Elephant was there. They had 2 clowns making balloon animals and other things for the children. Don Hickman and his wife (who has Multiple Sclerosis) kicked off the walk with a small speech. Also WAND News was there interviewing people and getting footage of the walkers. They had food, snacks, goodie bags, free massages. There were also T-shirts for people who raised $100 or more.

On my MS Walk Webpage there is an "Honor Roll" of those who helped make this a success for me. Thank you everyone! I appreciate everything you have done, My mother appreciates everything that you have done, and I am sure the MS Society appreciates you too.
